Banksia Grandis

 

One of the worlds rarest and most sought after banksia pods. Unique to Australia and only found in the golden triangle of Western Australia. Wood turners have been using them for well over 50 years however their use has been documented back to Indigenous times, used for flavouring meats and fish. When soaked in water and burnt they give off a wonderful aroma desirable still in smoked foods today.
